About Me – Kirsten Kuhn
My whole life, I’ve known one thing for certain: I was meant to be a mother. But deep down, there was always a quiet feeling that my journey to motherhood wouldn’t be easy. When I met my husband, that longing only grew stronger, and as our relationship deepened, so did my desire to start a family. We began trying, full of hope and excitement, but month after month, nothing happened.
Along the way, I found myself surrounded by friends who were falling pregnant, and instead of letting my own heartbreak take over, I leaned into something meaningful; creating personalised pregnancy journals for them. I wanted them to feel seen, celebrated, and supported in a way I deeply wished for myself. Those journals became a way for me to pour love into others while quietly navigating my own pain. As time went on, we turned to doctors for answers, only to be met with more challenges than hope. I was told that falling pregnant would be extremely difficult, facing polyps, blocked fallopian tubes, endometriosis, and PCOS; but giving up was never an option.
In the middle of it all, we got engaged, and true to who I am, I turned to organisation; lists, plans, and structure became my way of coping. While planning my own wedding, I created detailed lists for everything, and without even realising it, that’s how my wedding planner was born. A year after we got married, after countless medications, injections, and emotional highs and lows, we finally fell pregnant. It felt like everything we had been waiting for; but at just over five months, everything changed. Due to an infection and an incompetent cervix, I went into labour, and after hours of fighting, I delivered my daughter, who didn’t survive.
There are no words that can fully explain that kind of loss, and yet, even in that grief, we held onto hope. Four months later, through more treatment, strength, and faith, we fell pregnant again. This is only a part of my story; a story of longing, loss, resilience, and love. It is also the heart behind everything I create, from pregnancy journals to wedding planners and tools designed to hold people through life’s most meaningful moments, because I know what it feels like to want to remember everything and to hold onto what matters most.
